Host of Big Brother Australia, Sonia Kruger, has confirmed that Nine are currently working on a Celebrity edition of Big Brother Australia
Big Brother Australia’s future has been in doubt recently, after Nine fell silent on whether there would be a twelfth edition of the series, however hos Sonia Kruger has seemingly confirmed that there is a celebrity edition of the show in the works.
During an interview today on former BBAU hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O’s KIIS 1065 radio show, she was asked what was happening with Big Brother.
Kruger replied: “It’s still being talked about, they’re kind of looking at the casting,”
“There are some very interesting people that could possibly turn up. I can’t give too much away because there are some big international names that are being floated.”
Kruger was however unsure when the series could air, with the busy schedule that Nine has planned. She said:
“There’s a lot going on, but if we did Celebrity Big Brother it’d be a slightly shorter run so we should be able to get it in there somewhere.
“It does well in the UK too, Celebrity Big Brother. It’s a massive show over there.” When asked about the regular edition of Big Brother, she said: “It is turning out to be quite a busy year.”
Nine are yet to confirm anything officially regarding the future of the format on their network.
