Day -11: C5 listings suggest another shorter Big Brother series

Fans of Big Brother will be angry to hear that the length of the civilian series is again at risk – with the latest listings for the show listing just 40 episodes.

Last year, there was uproar among fans as the seventeenth series ran for 50 days, making it the second shortest edition of Big Brother globally.

Channel 5’s latest listings for Big Brother have stated that the new series is set to run over 40 episodes – if this was counted at one episode a day, this would mean it would run for a mere 5 and a half weeks.

The broadcaster has however played down the initial shock, saying that the length of the series is all subject to change. bbspy approached a source, with them confirming the length of this year’s series is “not set in stone”.

Narrator, Marcus Bentley, also took to Twitter to reassure fans that the series would last longer than just five and a half weeks. Big Brother kicks off its new series on Monday 5th June at 8:30pm on Channel 5.
