Day 12: Celebrity Big Brother stays strong for Saturday night

Celebrity Big Brother has had another strong Saturday performance in the ratings

Celebrity Big Brother seems to have come out unscathed by the ‘Saturday plague’ that usually blights the show’s weekly ratings. Last nights highlights show was seen by an impressive 2.56m viewers at 9PM (11.7%)

Elsewhere ITV’s failing revival of Stars In Their Eyes attracted just 2.51m viewers, meanwhile Take Me Out surpassed just over 3m viewers. BBC One’s offering of Casualty entertained 5.06m viewers (23.6%) while BBC Two’s nightly coverage of Darts and Channel 4’s airing of The Sweeney was seen by 1.31m viewers (6%) and 1.52m viewers (7.4%) respectively.

Channel 5 came third in it’s slot last night however continues to grow in numbers. Last night’s figures reveal this is one of the most watched Saturday show’s in almost half a decade, with 500K viewers up on the previous equivalent winter series episode.

And with recent news that 80’s solo singer Alexander O’Neal has left the house, the third celebrity to do so this series, will we see ratings rise once more, or with the fatigue of commotion and drama begin to blight viewers watching the show? Have your say in our comments below!
