It has been a whirlwind six years running Big Brother 24/7, but I have loved every single second of it. From opening the first version of the website in July 2011, which was built up on Weebly, to the website you see today. I have had a blast.
There was no way in my mind that I expected to carry on this long and to have such a strong and loyal following. Running Big Brother 24/7 isn’t a chore, it’s a hobby and something that I have absolutely adored doing. Every day of the year there is something Big Brother related going on in my mind or on my computer waiting for the next series, and that will be something very strange and something hard to let go of. I know that Big Brother isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and there are times where people have gotten so fed up with me talking about it – but I don’t care. It’s been a passion and something I have found so intriguing all these years and to be a small part of that journey has been awesome.
In all, I have covered 20 series – seven civilian editions and 13 celebrity editions (Who knows why we still have two celebrity series in one year…) which is a nice even number to finish up on. I have enjoyed covering every single one of them, and watching the website grow has been something I’m immensely proud of.
The only reason that I’m putting a stop to this is so I can concentrate hard on my third and final year at university. Big Brother 24/7 has opened up so many doors and opportunities for me throughout its time, including landing a job with mysnapp which has been incredible in its own right.
I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has visited over the years, it has been a pleasure providing you with the most up to date news for Big Brother, I want to say thank you to bbspy, Big Blagger, The Bite, RealityBox, Tellymix and so many others who have helped me along the way, including those who aren’t with us anymore. I have to say thank you to the Big Brother digital team for their continued support throughout the series, the crew at Elstree Studios, the Big Brother press team who have put up with constant emails and requests about the silliest of things and finally of course to all of the housemates who have made the last six years SO entertaining.
Big Brother 24/7 is something I hold very dear to my heart. Don’t worry, I won’t be disappearing forever – Twitter is still going to be there and I PROMISE if the next series of Big Brother is an all star series, I will be back! I will still be watching, still be as passionate and still be as much of a supporter as I already am.
But for now, thank you and goodnight.
