Channel 5 have taken the unusual steps to confirm that Stormy Daniels was set to enter the Celebrity Big Brother House on launch night.
Stormy – who is currently in a battle with the US president – was rumoured to be entering the house long before the series started on Thursday night. However, Stormy was a no-show during the two hour live launch show, resulting in only 13 housemates entering the house.
The Sun had previously claimed that Stormy demanded an additional £100,000 on top of her £750k appearance fee for the show, with other sources claiming that she was only appearing on the show for a week.
Following her no-show, Stormy was set to appear on Loose Women in an exclusive appearance to explain why she didn’t enter the house. However, she didn’t appear on the show and host Jane Moore was forced to go backstage to talk to her.
“Late last night – she showed me the emails on her phone – there was a custody development involving her daughter in America.” She suddenly thought, ‘I’ve got this situation, I can’t commit. Being a mother comes first’. It was also claimed that Stormy was denied the chance to explain her exit on the launch show.
As the show was ending, Loose Women received a statement from Channel 5 saying that they categorically deny all Stormy had said about her exit. In an usual move, Channel 5 said: “We note the comments from the transmission of Loose Women on ITV earlier today.
“Stormy Daniels was booked to appear on the show several months ago and hours before the show was due to go live, informed the production team that she no longer wished to enter the house as previously agreed.
“Producers discussed a variety of options with her but were unable to agree any acceptable conditions for her entering the house. Our focus is now on making a brilliant series with our fantastic celebrities.”
Later in the evening, Rylan took on the challenge of explaining Stormy’s comments on Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit on the Side, showing her entrance VT and explaining that Stormy did not ask for more money and pulled out of the show five hours before launch was due to begin.
