Day 4: Danielle: “I’ve not got a problem with same sex marriage”

Jale took to the Diary Room yesterday to discuss finalist, Helen, and Danielle discusses her view on same-sex marriage with Kimberly.

Tonight’s highlights show sees the Crack the Category task, Pauline’s power pad and the Housemates getting their suitcases, but yesterday, Jale took to the Diary Room to discuss Helen with Big Brother.

She said that she believes Helen is “standoffish”.

“Obviously I wasn’t too sure about Helen yesterday but I do want to get to know her…I always give people that chance.

At the moment, she’s quite standoffish. Look, I’m going on what I saw yesterday and there are people playing the game in here already but I was expecting that”

She goes on to discuss Pauline’s use of power saying that “she’s an intelligent woman…she knows what she’s doing.”

Meanwhile, Danielle’s view on same-sex marriage was discussed with Kimberly and Marlon.

“I went to church with my sister, close to my house…we have a lot of friends who are gay and we walked in there and they were absolutely slating gay people…they’re in hell and all this sort of stuff and I just walked out. How could someone be so horrible…I find it so crazy” said Kimberly.

“That’s too much. I don’t agree with that” Danielle added.

“I’m not in favour of same sex marriage but I’d never turn around and say, you’re going to hell…god still loves you regardless. I just don’t agree with it in the church of god.

“I think, if you want to get married, get married to who the hell you want to get married to. It’s as simple as that.” Marlon said, joining in with the conversation.

“Yeah…Civil Ceremonies and all that…the Catholic church don’t believe in same sex marriage in the church and I go by what the Pope says, do you know what I mean? I’ve not got a problem with same sex marriage.”

“The whole thing though is that marriage has to do with the government and it’s a piece of paper…that’s a certificate and they don’t have to be married in the Catholic Church”

“The only point I see in marriage is through god in the Catholic Church…or else, to me, it’s not marriage really.”

You can see all of this on the highlights show tonight at 9pm on Channel 5.
