Day 45: Over 1000 complaints recorded after Helen’s inappropriate comments

Ofcom have recorded over 1000 complaints following last night’s show.

Last night, Channel 5 broadcast a scene involving Big Brother 15 Housemate, Helen Wood, and Big Brother 8 Winner, Brian Belo, in an argument which ended up with a heated exchange. The scene involved Wood telling Belo that he looked like a rapist and a murderer.

Since the scene was shown on Channel 5, 1,100 complaints have been recorded regarding what Helen said. A spokesperson for Ofcom said “Ofcom has received 1,100 complaints about Big Brother on Channel 5 on June 24th. We will assess these complaints before deciding whether to investigate or not.”

Big Brother did issue Helen with a formal warning over the comments made to Brian, alongside giving Marc a warning also.

Helen is no stranger to complaints as last year, Ofcom received 3,784 complaints over comments made, many of which were to do with Helen.
