Day 48: C5 schedule Big Brother: Cashbomb twist for penultimate week

Channel 5 have scheduled a week long twist for the penultimate week in the Big Brother House.

Starting on Sunday July 5th, Channel 5 will be showing Big Brother: Cashbomb, a week long twist that runs until Thursday 9th July.

It will most likely have something to do with the prize fund, and feature it either going up or down. This year, Channel 5 increased the prize fund to £150,000 – the biggest prize fund in Big Brother history. However, in the past there have been twists to decrease the prize fund.

During the tenth live eviction, Emma Willis announced that the Housemates would be competing in a week long selection of tasks and that the £150,000 was in jeopardy. More details are expected to be announced shortly.

During the fifth series of Big Brother in 2004, Big Brother decreased the £100,000 prize fund for any rule breaks or failure of tasks. Prize fund twists have been more common since the move to Channel 5, as in 2011 for their first civilian edition of the show, the winner walked out with just £50,990 of the prize fund – the rest split unevenly between the Housemates.

In 2012, Channel 5 introduced the White Room twist which saw Conor walk out of the House with half of the winner’s prize fund – £50,000. Most recently, Channel 5 offered Big Brother 2014 Housemates the chance to increase the £100,000 prize fund, but lost their increase during their final task.

Big Brother continues at 9pm tonight with the next 80’s themed show.
