ITV confirm Big Brother revival on ITV2 and ITVX

ITV have confirmed the return of Big Brother.

Big Brother is set to make its anticipated return with a new series on ITV2 and ITVX next year – after a four year break from the spotlight.

ITV said: “A new cast of carefully selected housemates, from all walks of life, will take up residence in the world’s most famous reality TV home for up to six weeks, with cameras capturing their every move, and the nation following every twist and turn.

The action will all play out under the roof of the iconic Big Brother house, which will be given its own contemporary new look ready for this reimagining of the show. Clever tasks, nail-biting nominations and live evictions will be back, with the public once again playing a crucial role, voting throughout the series and ultimately determining the winner, who will walk away with a life changing cash prize. “

The new series will be a milestone 20th civilian series, with 11 having aired on Channel 4 between 2000 and 2010 & the remaining 8 on Channel 5 between 2011 and 2018.

The reality format has been absent from screens since the final series on Channel 5, but will finally return with a new run next autumn.

ITV confirmed that auditions for the new series of Big Brother would open for registration in the near future.

Big Brother is the original reality format that made household names of some of its most popular housemates including Alison Hammond, Josie Gibson and Craig Phillips.

More news is expected in the coming weeks on the new series.
