Pre-BB: Celebrity Big Brother set for UK vs USA theme

The summer edition of Celebrity Big Brother is reportedly set for a UK vs USA theme.

Channel 5 are lining up a new theme for this years summer edition of Celebrity Big Brother – UK vs USA, after the impact that blogger Perez Hilton had on the January series.

According to The Sun, the theme is inspired by Hilton’s arguments and constant clashes with Katie Hopkins. The insider said: “They hope that by pitching Brits against Americans they will capitalise on our cultural differences and fireworks will ensue.

“With the hope of making it the ‘most explosive’ series, producers are planning to book a house ‘full of fiery characters.”

‘Usually producers want a mix of contestants with some calmer people amongst the drama queens but this time they have said they want a house full of fiery characters,’ the source added.

In recent years, American Housemates have proved popular and argumentative, including Heidi and Spencer from Celebrity Big Brother 11 and Gary Busey in Celebrity Big Brother 14.

Celebrity Big Brother returns in the summer for its sixteenth series.
