Big Brother set for ‘bombshell’ return on ITV

The Sun have reported that Big Brother is set to make a return to the small screen in 2023.

Producers are reportedly in talks to get the reality format back on the air – but this time on ITV.

Big Brother is said to be taking on an autumn slot, airing on ITV2 following Love Island in the summer. The Sun said “ITV is the home of big appointment telly.”

“They are really keen on getting the deal done on Big Brother, and hope to have something firm to announce soon.

“The talks are still at an early, and delicate, stage and the next few weeks will be key”

ITV declined to comment on the claims when approached about the report.

Big Brother has been off the air since its final series on Channel 5 in November 2018. Streaming service Netflix was approached by producers to bring back the show, while Channel 4 were reportedly considering a reboot following its anniversary retrospective series in 2020.

In December, Banijay content boss Lucas Green had expressed hope that Big Brother would be back.
